Upperclass Students (Current)
Housing Registration and Notification

The Office of Residential Life is charged with the responsibility of tracking the housing plans and current local contact information for all Illinois Wesleyan University students.

It is for this reason that during the Spring semester, all current students must register for the residence hall housing lottery or notify the Office of Residential Life of their non-residence hall housing plans.  Students who are affiliated with Greek Organizations should have previously provided housing preference to the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and will be excluded from reporting to the Office of Residential Life.  Please reference the Housing Requirements page for more information.

Housing surveys will be sent to current students on or before February 15th, via IWU email accounts.  If you have previously made a request to block all surveymonkey.com requests, or are unable to locate the email, you must contact the Office of Residential Life (orl@iwu.edu).

Important News for the 2011/12 Academic Year

  • Academic year contracts.  Housing contracts at IWU are offered for the academic year.  This means if you choose to sign up for a room during the housing selection, you will remain in the residence halls for the full year.  Study abroad programs are excluded from this restriction.

  • Theme Community Applications.  There are three theme communities in Fall 2011: I-House (Kemp); Arts House (Blackstock); and Health House (Adams).  Although the initial application process is complete, we will continue to collect applications for those community until they have been filled or in case openings become available.  You can access the application at this link.

  • Early Housing Applications / Squatters Rights.  The Office of Residential Life is continuing to provide students with the opportunity to apply for suite and single room accommodations. We also offer current Magill and Pfeiffer residents with the option to return to their current hall. "Squatters" will have the option to return to their same rooms or a different room in the hall, with or without their current roommate.

    • There is one application for suites, singles, and squatters. You can access the application at this link.

    • Early applications will be accepted until Spring Break begins.  After that point, students will need to sign up for rooms during the lottery.
