Dream Job

I have always been a Broadway dreamer, so I would love to be in a musical on Broadway... Specifically  Spring Awakening.

Your favorite quote

Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die today- James Dean

How do you reward yourself for a job well done?

I like to reward myself for a job well done by going to the movies and eating ice-cream. Lot's of ice-cream.

Campus and community involvements beyond ORL

IWU Pride Alliance (Publicity Manager), Student Choreographed Dance Concert (Publicity Manager and Dancer), RHA, Student Senate, Music Theatre Society, SoTA Masquers.

Describe your residence hall floor or community.

I would describe the Martin community as a pretty close knit community, who generally keep to themselves, but when we do get together we have a great time. They are all kind, compassionate, and talented!

What’s something you’ve learned from your residents?

I have learned that there are so many things that we don't know about people and you might be surprised what you learn about your residents if you truly take the time to get to know them.

What do you love most about your job?

I would say that the thing that I love most about my job is working with an awesome staff to create programs that bring residents together.

What is an important campus resource you wish more students were aware of?

Aside from Counseling Services (because I think there is so much that they can help with that people don't realize) printing and mailing services. I know it sounds strange, but they have the nicest staff, and are always willing to help.

Martin muralWhat program have you been a part of planning that you’re most proud of?

I would say that the program that I am the most proud of that I helped with was the Martin mural. A lot of people pitched in and the final product turned out great!

Advice you have for students looking to increase their leadership skills?

My advice to those looking to improve their leadership skills is to have something to say, know that what you have to say matters. Also, figure out your strengths and make sure you know what kind of leader. There are a lot of different kinds of leaders, you just need to know what works best for you!

Adam's former supervisor, Christie Khalid, shared the following: Adam is an amazing leader not only within Residence Life but throughout campus. He is dedicated to his position and makes positive impacts on those around him. Adam has done an amazing job creating community throughout Martin Hall, while running an efficient desk staff.   Adam is ambitious, upbeat and confident. I was lucky to be a part of his growth and the IWU community is lucky to have him as a staff member.
