Major: Biology

After graduating from Fenton High School in Wood Dale, IL, Sam chose Illinois Wesleyan for the combination of academics and athletics. It allowed her to pursue a quality education while also playing both of the sports that she loves, basketball and softball. She also chose IWU for its very high acceptance rate into medical school. Sam is currently employed on campus doing research with her Organic Chemistry professor Dr. Mohan. She also works in an office while at home to make some extra money.

Sam played both Basketball and Softball during her first two years at Wesleyan. She is also a member of Tri-Beta (biology honor society), and of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Sam says she could do pretty much anything and have a good time while with her friends. As for her alone free time, she loves to head to Shirk Center for a work out, kick back with a book, or watch TV to let her mind take a break from school. Her favorite memory of Turning Titan was the hypnotist on Friday. After spending a few days on campus, faces began to be more familiar, and it was so funny watching people she knew get hypnotized on stage.

Sam's advice for new students:
Freshman year will be a rough transition from high school, but make sure you figure it out quickly so you also enjoy it as much as possible. Because, in retrospect, freshman year is the easiest academic year Wesleyan will offer.
