Major: Biology (Pre-Optometry)

Erick Henderson is a graduate of Danville High School in Danville, IL. He was drawn to IWU by the prestigious Biology program and how much he enjoyed his visits to campus. He remembers that everyone at IWU was very friendly and willing to help him. In addition to serving on many University committees, Erick is a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity, the Optometry Club, and supports the Lamu Center for Preventative Health through his involvement in FACE AIDS. In his free time, Erick really enjoys relaxing with his friends and watching some good baseball. His favorite part of his own orientation was the hypnotist; he says Frederick Winters was AMAZING!

Erick's advice for new students:
Don't be afraid to talk to people you don't know. Step out of your shell and learn about other people and their opinions. Being able to understand and relate to someone who has different belief systems than yourself is one of the best skills to have.
