The Charla Renner Student Leadership Intern Program/Award
This award was named in honor of Charla Renner,
a past Sigma Theta Tau president and distinguished IWU Associate Professor Emerita. It was presented to her on the tenth anniversary of Theta Pi in 1996. The purpose of this program is to enhance the leadership skills of new student inductees and to increase student involvement in chapter activities. Responsibilities of the intern are to attend Board of Directors meetings, develop and complete a project that will benefit the chapter, and write a brief article for the Theta Pi Chapter members reflecting the extent to which he or she was able to meet their goals. The Intern will then receive a monetary award at the Spring Induction Ceremony, upon completion of the assigned projects. This honor is awarded annually in the fall.
