Nursing Interventions Lab
Superb facilities at the School of Nursing include the Nursing Interventions Laboratory, which enables students to practice and develop the types of skills they will use in interacting with patients in a variety of care settings.
The Lab provides a setting in which students use a variety of resources including digital AV media, computers, supplies, and equipment in simulated situations, allowing students to develop experience in critical thinking and decision-making in an environment which is caring, supportive, and encouraging.
Christine Burnett, '10, comments on her lab experience: "The nursing lab is an awesome way to practice your skills and bond with your classmates. Our simulated environment makes it so easy to practice what it will be like once you get into the hospital. Practicing with my classmates gives me the opportunity to receive feedback and observe someone else's techniques. The nursing student 'labbies' are wonderful. They are so helpful at answering questions and go out of their way to make sure that you succeed."
Noted equipment in the laboratory includes SimMan and Nursing Anne Manikin.
