BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Illinois Wesleyan University will celebrate its Homecoming on Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 13. The theme for the weekend is derived from the musical “A Class Act,” based on the real life of composer and lyricist for “A Chorus Line,” Edward Kleban. The School of Theatre Arts (SotA), which celebrates its 65th anniversary this year, will present the musical to the campus community during the Homecoming festivities.
This year, the Golden Titan Club welcomes the Class of 1963, which will celebrate its 50th reunion. In addition, the 20th Annual Alumni and Friends Golf Outing takes on a new location at the Crestwicke Country Club in Bloomington.
For the first time in IWU history, there will be a live Homecoming Twitter feed active all weekend (@TitanPrideIWU, #IWUHC13) for students, faculty and alumni to share their thoughts and memories. For the 2013 football season, a new area for tailgating will permit fans to gather three hours prior to the IWU vs. North Park game at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday in Tucci Stadium (300 East Kelsey St., Bloomington).
Friday at 5 p.m. there will be a Ribbon Cutting and Dedication of Fricke Hall (corner of McLean and Empire Sts., Bloomington), one of the new apartment buildings at The Gates at Wesleyan complex.
