BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s Wind Ensemble will perform on Sunday, April 14, at 3 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington). The performance is free and open to the public.
The concert will be directed by Professor of Music Roger Garrett and student conductor Gabe Stillman ’13 from Milton, Mass.
For this year’s program, the School of Music has partnered with IWU Habitat for Humanity, who will provide ushers. Before and after the concert, as well as during intermission, student volunteers from the group will have an informational table set up outside of Westbrook Auditorium to provide information on the cause as well as an opportunity for attendees to donate.
The concert program will include the following: “The Voice of the Guns” by Kenneth Alford, “Down Longford Way” by Percy Aldridge Grainger and transcribed by Leroy Osmon, “Armenian Dances, Pt. 1” by Alfred Reed, “March” from “Symphonic Metamorphosis” by Paul Hindemith and transcribed by Keith Wilson, “Moon River: A Fantasy for Symphonic Band” by Jerry Bilik and “Blue Shades” by Frank Ticheli.
