BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The annual Henry Charles Memorial Concerto Aria Concert performed by the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra will take place on Friday, Feb. 15, at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (600 N. East St., Bloomington) at 7:30 p.m.
Cost per ticket for general admission will be $10, cost per ticket for senior citizens and IWU alumni will be $5, high school students with a valid ID can purchase tickets for $2 and admission will be free for IWU students and students of 8th grade and under.
Music Director and Conductor Steven Eggleston, currently professor of music and chair of the Woodwinds, Brass and Percussion Department at IWU, will conduct the concert. Senior music major Owen Carlos will perform Andante and Rondo Ungarese, op. 35 by Carl Maria von Weber, junior oboe performance major Abigail Lyons will perform the Oboe Concerto by Eugene Goossens, sophomore piano performance major Sarah Muehlbauer will perform Concerto No.2 in G Minor by Camille Saint-Saens, senior Music Education major Gabe Stillman will perform the Clarinet Concerto by Frank Ticheli, junior religious studies major Mark Timmerman will perform Concerto No.1 by Dimitri Shotakovich.
In addition the orchestra will perform “Gopak” from The Fair at Sorochynsti by Modest Mussorgsky and Symphony No. 4, mvmt. 4 by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
