Comedian Kira Soltanovich to Entertain

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Comedian Kira Soltanovich will entertain the Illinois Wesleyan community on Friday, March 1 in the Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington) at 8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

Soltanovich, born in the former Soviet Union, grew up in San Francisco after her parents immigrated with her to the U.S. She has done stand up comedy, sketches, hidden cameras and improves.

She has appeared on Comedy Central’s “The World Stand Up,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” “3rd Rock from the Sun.” A regular as the voice of the wildly popular Phony Photo Booth on both “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” and “The Jay Leno Show,” she has also been seen in Disney channel’s “Boy meets world” and “Prank Stars.”

In addition to numerous other television appearances, Soltanovich has appeared in movies such as “The Proposal” and “Wearing Hitler’s Pants.” She can also be seen on the Showtime Network’s LOL in her own half hour comedy “Here Comes Trouble.”

Saltonovich has been a winner, finalist and semi-finalist in a myriad of comedy competitions and festivals, including Comedy Central's “Laugh Riots,” California's Funniest Female, Seattle International Comedy Festival and the Boston Comedy Festival.
