State Street Brass Quintet

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The State Street Brass Quintet will perform various compositions on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at 8:00 p.m., in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington).  The concert is free and open to the public.

Musicians performing in the concert will include Wesley Skidgel on trumpet, Graham Middleton on trombone, and James Langenberg on tuba.  In addition, two adjunct faculty members of the Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Music, Jordan Olive on trumpet and Kelly Langenberg on horn, will perform as well.

The first piece to be performed will be Fire Dance composed by Anthony DiLorenzo, followed by the three parts of Victor Ewald’s Quintet No. 1.  Capriccio by Karl Pilss, will follow.

After a brief intermission, the quintet will perform Scherzo by John Cheetham, the three parts of Frost Fire, by Eric Ewazen and Roar Kvam’s edition of Canzon Quarti Toni by Giovanni Gabrieli.
