BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Theatre Arts will present the biennial Faculty Choreographed Dance Concert, “Sins.” Performances will take place at the McPherson Theatre (2 Ames Plaza East, Bloomington) at 8 p.m. from Tuesday, April 9 to Saturday, April 13, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 14.
Tickets are on sale and are available for purchase at the McPherson Theatre Box Office (309-556-3232). Student and faculty tickets are $2 with a valid school ID. General admission is $10 for the Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday performances and $12 for the Friday and Saturday shows. Senior citizens will receive a $1 discount on ticket price.
The concert features original choreography from guest choreographer Lindsey Miller and IWU faculty including: instructor Sheri Marley, who also serves as director of the show, Associate Professor of Theatre Arts Jean MacFarland Kerr, and instructors Dmitri Peskov and Jessica Riss-Waltrip.
Miller’s dance training is very diverse coming from the professional training program of the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance and summer programs with the Joffrey Ballet School NYC, the School of Ballet Chicago, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company and Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Miller graduated with honors from Illinois State University with a degree in dance performance. Her choreography has been presented in many venues throughout Illinois, New York, Kansas, and Connecticut. Her professional performance work includes Beth Soll and Dancers, Trainor Dance, Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre, Kari Lindstrom’s “Movement Painting” projects and Ballet des Amériques Company.
