BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— On Sunday, Dec. 2, there will be a holiday service titled, Light the Night: A Multicultural Celebration of the Season of Light in Evelyn Chapel (1301 Park St., Bloomington). The event, which begins at 8 p.m., is free and open to the public.
The service will celebrate the stories, songs and meaning of Hanukkah, Christmas and Kwanzaa. There will be a performance of a new one-act play entitled “To Hope” by sophomore Briana Birt, who is a Multifaith Ambassador. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served following the service.
Participants in the service will include, Chaplain Elyse Nelson Winger, Multifaith Ambassadors, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship leader Chelsea Werries, Hillel member Aaron Woodstein and Black Student Union president Raven Stubbs. There will be musical performances by the Evelyn Ensemble, the Evelyn Gospel Choir, D.R.L musicians, silenceinterrupted and Touch of Class.
