Junior Recital

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music will present a Junior Recital on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 3 p.m. It will be held in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington) and is free and open to the public. Following the recital, there will be a reception in the Smith Reception Room in Presser Hall. 

Devin Johnston, junior music education major, and Joe Lewis, a music education major with a senior standing, who plans to graduate in 2014, are the featured tenor singers of the recital. Johnston will perform multiple solos, such as “Der Neugierige” by Franz Schubert, “La Serenata” by Paolo Tosti and “I Carry Your Heart” by John Duke. 

Lewis will also sing a number of solos, including “Morgengruss” by Franz Schubert, “Jour et nuit je me mets en quatre” by Jacques Offenbach and “A Wand’ring Minstrel I” by Arthur Sullivan. 

The recital will end with a duet by Johnston and Lewis, titled “Lily’s Eyes” by Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman from the musical “The Secret Garden.”
