BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The Illinois Wesleyan University Merwin and Wakeley Galleries, located in the Ames School of Art (6 Ames Plaza West, Bloomington), will present two exhibitions from Nov. 6 through Dec. 6. The exhibitions, which will have receptions on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the galleries, are Art Werger's Connection: A Story in the Making and a collection of ceramic sculptures titled Lavish and Lush.
There will also be a lecture presented by Werger on Tuesday, Nov. 6 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Ames School of Art, room 218. The events are free and open to the public.
The galleries' viewing times are Monday through Friday from 12 to 4 p.m., Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
Werger's art features prints of people and suburban and urban scenes. His work has been showcased in multiple galleries and international festivals, such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., Festival Szuki and World Award Winners Gallery.
The sculptures that make up the Lavish and Lush exhibit are a compilation of experimental works by multiple artists. The artists showcased are Susan Beiner, Jason Briggs, Erin Furimsky, Mandy Greer, Rain Harris, Julie Moon and Tammie Rubin.
