BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will present the annual Fall Choral Concert on Sunday, Oct. 28, as part of the New Music Series. The performance, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 3 p.m. in the Second Presbyterian Church (313 N. East St., Bloomington).
The concert will feature performances by the University Choir, conducted by Jonathan D. Green, provost and dean of the faculty at IWU, and the Collegiate Choir, conducted by J. Scott Ferguson, IWU professor of music and director of choral activities.
The University Choir will begin the concert with Leonard Berstein's "Chichester Psalms." The program will then continue with the Collegiate Choir performing "Haec Dies" by William Byrd, "Why Art Thou So Heavy, O My Soul" by Henry Loosemore, "Stránnoye Rozhdestvó vídevsche (A Wondrous Birth)" by György Sviridov, "Hymn to the Creator of Light" by John Rutter, "The Evening Primrose" by Benjamin Britten and "Fire!" by John Orfe.
