Wesleyan Consort to Perform

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – On Thursday, April 12, the Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will hold a performance by the Wesleyan Consort as part of their student recital series.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 8 p.m. in Evelyn Chapel (1301 Park St., Bloomington).

The program will include works by Antonio Vivaldi, Michael Praetorius, John Stanley, William Lawes, Arcangello Corelli, John Dowland, Thomas Tallis and Juan de Araujo. Two soprano vocalists and a variety of instruments will be featured as well, including cello, violin, recorder, harpsichord and organ.

The event will also showcase Baroque dancers during the piece "Dances from Terpsichore" by Michael Praetorius.
