BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music will present a concert with the University's two student-led jazz combos, Off the Record and Active Ingredient, on Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington). The concert is free and open to the public.
The concert will be divided into two parts, with Off the Record performing first. The group will perform The Sidewinder by Lee Morgan, A Child is Born by Thad Jones, Moment's Notice by John Coltrane and Theme from "Hey Arnold!" by Jim Lang.
Off the Record is comprised of six musicians including junior economics major Jarrod Hill, alto saxophone; junior music major Drew Bogen, trumpet; freshman music education major Andy Seidel, trombone; freshman music education major Greg Goeden, guitar; senior international studies major Allison Whitley, bass and junior music education major Stan Dulkoski, drums.
Active Ingredient will perform Jordu by Irving 'Duke' Johnson, Peace by Horace Silver, Cry Me A River by Arthur Hamilton/Justin Timberlake, Revelation by Russell Ferrante and Places I've Been by Gabe Stillman.
The group consists of five members including junior music education major Gabe Stillman, alto saxophone and piano; junior accounting major Ini Essien, tenor and saxophone; senior international studies major Jordan Pettis, vocals; sophomore computer science and philosophy major Troy Sennett, bass and senior music education major Jacob Bisaillon, drums. Active Ingredient will feature special guest Mark Timmerman on piano.
