BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— A recent Illinois Wesleyan University graduate will present his work at an international conference in Cuba called XIII Simposio Internacional de Comunicacion Social (13th International Symposium on Social Communication) Jan. 21 through Jan. 25, 2013.
The conference focuses on communication in multiple ways, such as linguistics, medicine, mass media, art, folklore and computational linguistics. It will be held at the Ministry of Science, Technology and the Environment’s location in Santiago de Cuba, the Centre for Applied Linguistics.
Colin Schofield, who is a Hispanic studies major and member of the graduate class of May 2012, from Lake Zurich, Ill., will present his paper “Etnologia del exito academico: los tres lados” (Ethnology of academic success: three sides). Schofield created this paper from his research while studying abroad in Chile.
