BLOOMINGTON, Ill.— Mission IMPROVable is returning to Illinois Wesleyan University during Family Weekend to perform on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 9 p.m. in the Hansen Student Center (300 E. Beecher St., Bloomington). Admission to the show, which is typically one to two hours long, is free for IWU students; however, family members will need to purchase tickets.
This improvisation troupe started 13 years ago, when the original members were studying together at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Upon graduation, six members moved to Chicago to work at Second City, Improv Olympic (IO) and Annoyance Theater.
Mission IMPROVable's popularity spread, and an agent, Bass-Schuler, began to tour them across the country. Now, they have traveled to all 50 states to perform their skits and games utilizing audience participation. For six years in a row, Mission IMPROVable has been nominated for Campus Activities Magazine's "Comedy Act of the Year."
