The funeral service for Brandon Landau, first-year student at Illinois Wesleyan who died last Sunday following a fraternity social event at White Pines State Park in northern Illinois, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, at Riverdale Presbyterian Church in Bronx, New York. President Richard F. Wilson, Dean of Students Karla Carney-Hall, and several of Brandon’s classmates will attend the service.
The campus community turned out in large numbers this week to attend a remembrance service at Evelyn Chapel on Monday and a candlelight vigil Wednesday evening. “The students, faculty, and staff at Illinois Wesleyan have used these events to express their deepest sympathies to Brandon’s family and friends and to come to terms with the personal grief being felt by everyone,” said President Wilson.
Brandon was a political science major who lived in Gulick Hall, a member of the Sigma Pi Fraternity and worked at Tommy’s grill in the Hansen Student Center.
A campus memorial service is being planned and will be announced in the coming weeks.
