BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – On Friday, Nov. 11, the Illinois Wesleyan Wind Ensemble will present a concert in honor of Veterans Day. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts (BCPA) (600 N. East St., Bloomington).
Dean of Admissions Tony Bankston will narrate the concert, which is free and open to the public. Pictures of Illinois Wesleyan faculty, students and relatives who have served in the Armed Forces over the years will be displayed in the lobby of the BCPA.
The Wind Ensemble, created by Professor of Music Steven Eggleston in 1979, consists of Illinois Wesleyan wind and percussion students of all majors. Past concerts have included performing with the College Band Directors’ National Association Conference and the Illinois Music Educators Association Conference, as well as a number of tours throughout the Midwest.
