BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music will present a student composition recital on Sunday, Mar. 6 at 1 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St., Bloomington). The recital is free and open to the public.
The performance will feature Jack Hanlon, a senior music education major. Hanlon will open the recital with his performance of Tableaux de Provence on the alto saxophone, followed by his rendition of Deep Flowers.
Adjunct faculty member, Nancy Pounds, will join Hanlon on the piano. Together they will perform three sonatas: Allegro, Andantino Cantabile, and Allegro Vivace.
After a brief intermission, Hanlon will perform Epitaphe de Jean Harlow, opus 164. Sarah Bencomo, a senior music education major, will accompany on the flute.
Hanlon and Pounds will close the performance with two sonatas from opus 29, Andante Maestoso and Allegro Energico.
