BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Faculty Biennial art exhibition, which opened on Tuesday, Sept. 13, will continue to be on display at Illinois Wesleyan University’s Merwin and Wakeley Galleries until Thursday, Nov. 3. The galleries are located in the Joyce Eichhorn Ames School of Art Building (6 Ames Plaza, Bloomington).
Regular gallery hours are Monday through Friday from noon - 4 p.m., Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sundays from 1-4 p.m.
An opening reception will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 4 from 4 - 6 p.m. in the galleries. The event, which showcases the work of nine Illinois Wesleyan art faculty members, is free and open to the public.
All areas of the studio art program will be represented, including painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, photography, ceramics, sculpture and glass. The following faculty members are featured: Miles Bair, director of the School of Art and professor of art; Constance Estep, associate professor of art; Timothy Garvey, professor of art; LJ Douglas, adjunct assistant professor of art; Carmen Lozar, adjunct faculty; Sherri McElroy, professor of art; Therese O’Halloran, adjunct assistant professor of art; Spencer Sauter, adjunct assistant professor and Kevin Strandberg, professor of art.
The exhibition coincides with IWU’s Homecoming weekend. Extended Gallery hours for Homecoming weekend are as follows: Saturday, Oct. 22 and Sunday, Oct. 23 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., on both days. A special reception will be held for all Illinois Wesleyan Alumni on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 2-4 p.m. in the galleries. There will be time to visit with faculty and light refreshments will be served.
