Sonic Exploration Society to Perform

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s School of Music will present The Sonic Exploration Society on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium, Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington). The event is free and open to the public and will feature contemporary jazz and improvisations.

The Sonic Exploration Society consists of Professor of Music David Vayo on piano, Bill Khoeler of Illinois State University on bass, Manpreet Bedi on tabla, the traditional hand drums of India, and Bob McEntyre on drums.

The group will perform: Koehler’s “Chaconne” and “Fidel’s Melancholy,” Vayo’s “Enigma,” John McLaughlin’s “Lotus Feet” and “A Lotus on Irish Streams,” Horace Silver’s “Peace,” Keith Jarrett’s “Innocence” and Rezo Seress’s “Gloomy Sunday,”
