May 6, 2010

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – On Saturday, May 15th, the Annual May Term Titan-2-Titan Volunteer Day will kick off at 9 a.m. from the Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington). This year, around 40 students will be working to assist ten alumni.

Titan-2-Titan is traditionally held during first-year orientation in August, however it made its debut also in May Term last spring. Organized by Associate Dean of Student Affairs Darcy Greder, Titan-2-Titan pairs up current students with retired alumni assist them with chores such as cleaning out garages, weeding flower beds, and other light housework.

“Titan-2-Titan is a nice way of acknowledging and honoring the green thread that connects Titans of all ages through service and fellowship,” said Greder. “I am always proud of the students who participate, this is an aspect of what being a Titan is all about: involvement, service, caring, and engagement.”
