School of Music to Host Brass Concert

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan School of Music will host a brass concert on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington) as part of the 3rd annual Brass Weekend.

This event is free and open to the public.

Program pieces will include Sextet by Gregory Kerkorian performed by the horn ensemble. The trombone ensemble will perform Here’s That Rainy Day by Jimmy Van Heusen and arranged by Dave Wheeler as well as Old Devil Moon by Burton Lane and arranged by Ken Tiffany. The tuba ensemble will perform Adagio from Symphony No. 3 by Saint-Seans and transcribed by Steve Hanson, Intrada from Antiphonal Suite by Melchoir Frank and arranged by Mike Forbes and National Emblem March by E.E. Bagley and arranged by John Martin.
