BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University Educational Studies Department will host its first research fair, “Inquiries into Teaching and Learning,” on Saturday, April 19 from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Hansen Student Center (300 Beecher St., Bloomington).
Senior Illinois Wesleyan education students will share their scholarly work with the local high school teachers who have acted as mentors throughout the students’ college career.
From 9:30 – 10 a.m. there will be oral presentations followed by poster and PowerPoint presentations from 10 – 11 a.m. From 11 – 11:30 a.m. there will be another oral presentation session and from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. there will be another poster and PowerPoint presentation.
The fair will publicize what is distinctive about teacher education at IWU. Illinois Wesleyan is one of the new undergraduate teacher education programs, which promotes teacher research among its students.
Local teachers, students’ parents and other educational studies students and community members are also welcome to attend.
