BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan University’s School of Music will present their annual spring choral concert on Sunday, April 13 at 3 p.m. in Second Presbyterian Church (313 N. East St., Bloomington).
The concert will feature Illinois Wesleyan’s University Choir, who will be joined by Illinois Wesleyan’s Collegiate Choir as well as the choirs from Second Presbyterian Church and First Christian Church on two numbers by Ludwig van Beethoven and Jester Hairston during the end of the concert.
Concert pieces will include works by J. S. Bach, Gustav Holst, Robert Schumann and Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The University Choir, under the direction of Michael Fitch, adjunct music professor, is a mixed ensemble of approximately 80 members. The choir performs sacred and secular choral music of different periods and styles. The ensemble performs at least three times per year and is open to all Illinois Wesleyan students who audition. The ensemble is comprised of music majors, minors, Jennings Scholars, and non-majors.
