Faculty to Perform Vocal Recital

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music will present a faculty recital featuring soprano Elizabeth Ducey Moss, professor of applied voice and diction for singers, on Saturday Sept. 20 at 5 p.m. in Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 Park St., Bloomington).
The event is free and open to the public.
Recital pieces will include music by female composers including Josephine Lang, Fanny Mendelssohn, Amy Beach, Cecile Chaminade and Libby Larsen.
Dusey Moss received her bachelor’s degree in music from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa., her master’s degree in music from Binghamton University in Binghamton, N.Y. and her doctorate degree in musical arts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
She has also studied in Sienna, Italy and Laval University in Quebec, Canada. She was awarded first place in the central region of the 2008 NATSAA (National Association of Teachers and Singing Artists Award), and she is an honorary member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a women’s music fraternity. On stage, Dusey Moss has played Elvira in Le Nozze di Figaro, Fiordilidgi in Cosi Fan Tutte, Guilietta in Les Contes d’Hoffman and Gertrude in Hansel and Gretel.
Ducey Moss has taught at Webster University in St. Louis, Mo., Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y. and the Cedar Arts Center in Corning, N.Y.
