BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The May Term Concert Band, organized and conducted by Illinois Wesleyan University junior music education major Preston Prior, will give a concert on Wednesday, May 28 at 6:30 p.m.
Free and open to the public, the concert will take place on the steps of Sheean Library. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be performed in the Westbrook Auditorium of Presser Hall (1210 N. Park St.).
In its inaugural year, the May Term Concert Band is comprised of 45 members who are music majors, minors and non-majors.
The ensemble will perform “English Folk Song Suite” by Ralph Vaughn Williams, “Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral” by Richard Wagner, “American Overture for Band” by Joseph Wilcox Jenkins, “On a Hymnsong of Phillip Bliss” by David R. Holsinger, “March from 1941” by John Williams, “Shenandoah” by Frank Ticheli and “Stars and Stripes Forever” by John Philip Sousa.
