Sigma Xi to Hold Science Café Event

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – A Science Café Event, sponsored by the Illinois Wesleyan University and Illinois State University chapter of Sigma Xi, the Scientific Honorary Society, and Barnes and Noble will be held on Sunday, February 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Bloomington Barnes and Noble bookstore (1701 E. Empire, Bloomington) and is free of charge.
The theme of this Science Café, which will be lead by IWU Professor of Physics Narendra Jaggi and ISU Professor of Biochemistry Marjorie Jones, is “Conversations about Global Climate Change.” The conversation is informal and Barnes and Noble will provide free coffee and cookies.
Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, was founded in 1886 as an honor society for scientists and engineers. The goals of the Society are to foster interaction among science, technology and society; to encourage appreciation and support of original work in science and technology; and to honor scientific accomplishments.
