BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – Headlining her own Blue Moon Coffeehouse concert for the first time, singer Krista Detor will perform in the Young Main Lounge in the Memorial Center (104 University St., Bloomington) on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m.
Detor is known for lyrical quality and intense piano work that are free of genre classification. Since the release of her album Mudshow, Detor has claimed the number-one spot on the Euro-Americana chart. Now, performing her latest album, Cover Their Eyes, Detor incorporates regional musical styles of the South, Midwest and Europe.
Detor’s music has been played at the Cannes Film Festival and the National Domestic Violence Hotline Conference in Washington, D.C.; as well as on National Public Radio; the BBC; Dutch, German, and Belgian National Radio; and several American and European radio and television shows and podcasts. She contributed to the highly praised 2007 Wilderness Plots stage show and CD, collaborating with singers/songwriters Carrie Newcomer, Tim Grimm and various Indiana artists.
