McLean County Woodcarvers to Exhibit at Merwin Gallery
21st Annual Student Show in Wakeley

BLOOMINGTON, Ill.- The summer 2008 art exhibition "Songbirds and Waterfowl" will feature the works of McLean County artists Patrick Gregory and Steve Quiram.
The exhibition will run June 10 to August 10 in the Merwin Gallery of the Ames School of Art, (6 Ames Plaza West), Bloomington. Gallery summer hours are Friday, Saturday and Sunday and Monday from 12- 3 p.m.
There will be an opening reception on Tuesday, June 10, 6-8 p.m. in the gallery. Both artist will give a talk at 7 p.m., and be available for questions during the reception.
All events are free and open to the public.
Gregory and Quiram use different styles in their artistic approach to wood and nature carvings. Gregory, an award-winning decoy artist, carves both ducks and fish however; he specializes in duck decoy carvings. Quiram is known for capturing the realistic movement, form and colors of birds and wildlife in his work.
The Wakeley Gallery will showcase the artistic works of the Ames School of Art student award winners from the 21st Annual Student Show. This exhibition features students who are majors and minors in the field of art, recognized by the University as showing promise and creativity in their work using painting, drawings, printmaking, graphic design, photography, ceramics, sculpture and glass as their mediums.
