Organist Doris Simpson Hill is an active teacher, and composer residing in Bloomington/Normal, Illinois. The organist for Second Presbyterian Church from 1971, Ms. Hill received her Bachelor and Master's degree from Illinois Wesleyan University. Further organ study has included David Gehrenbeck, Gerald Hamilton, Marilyn Keiser, Madame Durufle, and Marie Louise Langlais. Ms. Hill has studied composition with Dr. David Nott, Illinois Wesleyan; Rocque Cordero, Illionis State; and Lloyd Pfautsch at Southern Methodist University.

She has performed numerous community recitals on piano, organ and harpsichord, and was featured as both soloist and accompanist for choral tours throughout the mid-western states as well as England, Scotland, and Wales, performing also, in 1995 with the Illinois Symphony Orchestra. During 1995, Ms. Hill was commissioned by Illinois Wesleyan University to compose four choral compositions. These works were premiered at their annual Christmas concert as well as performed on the Collegiate Choir's spring tour in March 1995. In the summer of 1995, Mr. Hill also accompanied the Chapel Choir of Second Presbyterian Church on their European tour of Switzerland and Austria; in 2001 to the Eastern Bloc countries as accompanist and soloist and again on their concert tour of Italy in 2005.

She is the wife of Ronald E. Hill; they have four children and ten grandchildren.

Ms. Hill recently retired from Second Presbyterian Church as Director of Music Ministries after having served for 37 year. She played a Dedicatory Recital on the new John-Paul Buzard Organ, Op. 37 in November of 2008 to culminate her tenure.

She has served IWU School of music in various adjunct positions for many years-presently as organ and harpsichord instructor.
