Soprano/Professor of Voice

Dr. Elizabeth Ducey Moss, soprano, was awarded the Master of Music degree from Binghamton University and the Bachelor of Arts in Music from Acadia University.  She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign where she was the student of Cynthia Haymon-Coleman.  Further studies have taken her to Sienna, Italy and Laval University in Quebec, Canada.  An active recitalist and concert soloist, Dr. Ducey Moss’s most recent recitals have featured the music of women composers.  She was awarded first place in the central region of the 2008 NATSAA (National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Award) competition.  On the opera stage Dr. Ducey Moss’s roles include Elvira in Le Nozze di Figaro, Fiordilidgi in Così Fan Tutte, Giulietta in Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Gertrude in Hansel und Gretel.  Her oratorio credits include Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis, Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Mozart’s Requiem.  She has served on the voice faculties of Webster University in St. Louis, MO; Elmira College in Elmira, NY; and the Cedar Arts Center in Corning, NY.  Dr. Ducey Moss is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and an honorary member of Sigma Alpha Iota (Woman’s Music Fraternity).  For Illinois Wesleyan she enjoys teaching applied voice and lyric diction.
