Guest Recital:  Murasaki Duo.  The Ensemble-In-Residence at Luther College performs cello and piano music by composers from Iowa and Illinois.  3:00 pm

Guest Recital:  Wolfgang David, violin; David Gompper, piano/composer.  This international duo presents three recent pieces alongside sonatas by Brahms and Debussy.  3:00 pm

October 18

Festival of Bulgarian Music - Nina Gordon, Director.  Bulgarian music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, with three guest musicians from Bulgaria and the Balkanalia Folk Ensemble from the University of Illinois.  3:00 pm

October 19

Faculty Recital:  Keith Zimmerman, saxophones; William West, piano.  Program includes a selection of mid-twentieth-century compositions.

New Music Café.  IWU alum pianist Robert Elfine of Augustana College plays a selection of innovative music, IWU students perform Terry Riley's groundbreaking minimalist composition In C, and a world premiere by Garrett Byrnes, commissioned by Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.  8:00 pm

Jazz Ensemble Concert -Thomas Streeter, Director.  Playing the best of the classic and contemporary big band literature.  7:30 pm

November 2

Senior Composition Recital:  Scott Schumann.  5:00 pm

Jazz Lab Band Concert - Thomas Streeter, Director.  Playing great contemporary music written for the big band.  8:00 pm

Senior Composition Recital:  Amber Johnson.  5:00 pm

Symposium of Contemporary Music:  The Orchid Ensemble and guests.  An evening of improvisations featuring this Vancouver-based trio of percussion and traditional Chinese instruments.  7:30 pm

November 9

Symposium of Contemporary Music:  Music of John Sharpley.  Singapore-based composer Sharpley is present for the premiere of his A Dream Within a Dream for the Orchid Ensemble and IWU's Collegiate Choir, along with a selection of his songs and chamber music.  Second Presbyterian Church, 313 N  East St., Bloomington.   3:00 pm

Student Composition Recital.  8:00 pm
