IWCO FRIENDS OF THE ORCHESTRA

Dear Patron,

Thank you for your support of the Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra! It is because of your patronage that the 2013-2014 year marks our 29th season. Founded in 1984 by director and conductor Steven W. Eggleston, the ensemble has performed with many esteemed soloists and is made up of students and members of the community. IWCO continues to be a valuable, affordable cultural entity to audiences in Bloomington-Normal and beyond. It also provides an incredible educational opportunity to IWU students and a performance opportunity to community members, allowing them to participate in a full orchestra that performs diverse works.

After our 2014 season, we will bid a fond farewell to conductor Steven Eggleston as he is retiring from a long tenure at IWU. Now, more than ever, we need your support. We are not asking for money and we will not flood your inbox; we simply would like to know how to contact you to keep you informed of upcoming concerts, opportunities, and more. We will also update you on the future of the orchestra in the absence of Mr. Eggleston.

Fill out the quick form below to continue to support the IWCO!

Warm thanks,
The IWCO Board of Directors

Stand Partners Program

A Part for You To Play

iwcoamymccable

Typically in an orchestra, two players share a music stand, and their collegue is known as their “stand partner.” The Illinois Wesleyan Civic Orchestra (IWCO) will soon be offering a special opportunity for YOU to become an additional Stand Partner, becoming a part of our ensemble through your support. As an IWCO Stand Partner, you can participate in the Orchestra experience in a very special way as you will be matched with an IWCO student musician as your personal Partner.

The IWCO is unique as a University orchestra that shares the stage with community players, making it a special part of the greater Bloomington-Normal Community.  Your support of the IWCO enables us to go far beyond the usual classroom/auditorium offering by bringing our concerts to the historic Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts and hosting world-famous guest artists in performance with the IWCO.

Examples of Stand Partner benefits (depending on your intereste and level of support) include:

  •    Season tickets to IWCO concerts (4 each academic year)
  • Invitation to Partners-only receptions with your musician-partner
  • Printed recognition in concert programs
  • Name badge to wear to concerts, identifying you as a valuable supporter of IWCO
  • Correspondence from your Musician Partner, sharing their struggles and triumphs in rehearsal and performance
  • Copies of some of the music they’re working on, so you can follow along
  • Other special opportunities yet to be determined!

We look forward to having you join us!
