Who is eligible to join the IWU Civic Orchestra?
All students of the University and Community members

What is the Orchestra audition process?
The audition process consists of an orchestral excerpt supplied by the conductor and available prior to the audition; two minutes of a solo selected by the student/community member; and sight-reading

When are auditions?
Auditions take place during the first week of classes in the fall

Must students re-audition once they are in the Orchestra?
Yes.  Second-semester auditions are held for most instruments.

If I don't have an instrument, can I get one to play in the Orchestra?
Yes.  Please contact Ed Risinger about instrument availability and access

Can I play a solo with the Orchestra?
The School of Music hosts an annual concerto/aria competition.  The audition is held in November and the winners of the competition solo with the orchestra in February.

How many concerts does the Orchestra perform each year?
Four to five concerts per year

When and where does the Orchestra rehearse?
Rehearsals take place in Room 167 of the School of Music (Presser Hall).  The orchestra rehearses Monday and Wednesday from 4 to 5:30 and Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30.
