The Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music is a program designed for students who wish to complete a general study of music within a liberal arts curriculum.  Course work and experiences are designed to provide opportunities for students to develop basic musicianship skills, performance skills, and to engage in a broad study of musical repertoire.

Acceptance into the program leading to the B.A. in music is based upon evaluation by music faculty members of an audition and an interview.  Candidates for the B.A. degree in music must pay tuition and fees at the rate established for the School of Music.

** A B.A. degree candidate in Music may request 60-minute lessons only after successful completion of the first term of Applied Studio.  If this request is approved, the student must pay for the additional 30 minutes.  A B.A. degree candidate in Music may request an accompanists for 60 minutes per week (rather than the provided 30-minutes per week) only after successful completion of the first term of Applied Studio.  If this request is approved, the student must pay for the additional 30 minutes of accompanying.  Approval is granted by the applied studio instructor and the applied jury.
