ALANA Orientation

  August 15-17, 2009

ALANA  is an acronym used to refer to Illinois Wesleyan's racially underrepresented student population, specifically African-American, Latino - American, Asian- American, and Native American Students. ALANA Orientation is a 3 day event which allows first year ALANA students the opportunity to meet current students, faculty, and staff. The purpose of ALANA Orientation is to provide critical tools and resources to students that will assist them in achieving a successful and productive first year experience.

ALANA Orientation will be held August 15-17, 2009.  This orientation is an opportunity for you to:

  • Learn how to succeed at Illinois Wesleyan
  • Meet upper-class students
  • Make connections with campus faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Network with IWU minority alumni
  • Explore the Bloomington-Normal community
  • Become a part of the GUIDE Mentor/Mentee Program
  • Make the most of IWU outside the classroom
  • Celebrate and appreciate diversity
  • Beat the move-in rush!
