IWU Gets Three on First Team, Four on Second Team All-CCIW
Illinois Wesleyan landed three players on the first team and four on the second team of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin all-league squads.
Junior defensive end Mike Stephens (Orland Park, Providence Catholic HS), freshman wide receiver Martin Ceisel (Deerfield, HS) and junior return specialist Eric Esch (Bloomington HS) were first team honorees while defensive back Bo Osburn (Morton HS), linebacker Damon Banks (Bellwood, Walther Lutheran), offensive lineman Tim Murray (Park Ridge, Maine South HS) and sophomore running back Marcus Dunlop (Maywood, Proviso East HS) were all selected to the second team.
Banks was a second team all-CCIW pick the last three seasons and Esch was a first team return specialist in 2004.
Dunlop finished sixth in the CCIW with 78.3 yards per game while Ceisel was fifth in the CCIW with 4.0 receptions per game and second with 88.4 receiving yards per game. Banks was third in the CCIW with 10.6 tackles per game and Stephens was third in the CCIW with .86 sacks per game. Esch was second in the CCIW games with a 6.5 punt return average.
