August 22 - The Titans have been victorious in our first two games. We beat San Carlos, 93-45, and everyone got a chance to play in the game.
We were treated like rock stars arter beating the Costa Rica National Team by 20 points (89-69). We signed what seemed like hundreds of autographs and lots of people were taking our photos.
The trip has been awesome so far. We watched a volcano erupt, had iguanas crawl all over our bodies, and visited an orphanage. Whitewater rafting, canopying and other stuff still to come.
Once we are in San Jose we will be staying at a 5-star hotel and we are all looking forward to that
August 23 - The Illinois Wesleyan men’s basketball team lost in overtime, 91-90, to the Barbados National Team on Aug. 23 as part of the Titans’ five-game tour of Costa Rica. IWU is now 2-1 on the trip and plays Brujas on Aug. 25 and the Costa Rica National Team again on Aug. 26 in a game that will celebrate 100 years of basketball in Costa Rica. In the loss to Barbados, Adam Dauksas (shown) paced the Titans with 22 points. Keelan Amelianovich and Zach Freeman added 18 each, Chris Jones had 17 and Matt Arnold 10. While in Costa Rica the team members will have a chance to go whitewater rafting, visit the Arenal Volcano, and will visit a local children’s hospital.
August 25 - The Illinois Wesleyan basketball team wrapped up its exhibition tour of this Central American country Friday with an 80-73 victory over Escazu.
