Associate Dean of Curriculum

The Associate Dean of Curriculum (ADC) is responsible for providing leadership in strengthening all curricular programs and ensuring that existing and new program content and delivery are of consistently high quality by overseeing assessment of program curriculum and student learning outcomes.  The ADC is deeply involved in all university initiatives concerned with enhancing the strategic planning and development of curriculum, diversity, globalization, sustainability, and incorporation of student research into the curriculum.

In addition, the ADC is also responsible for the sharing of best practices among faculty and for assisting in balancing the needs of particular programs with those of other disciplines and general education.  Her administrative responsibilities include managing the Writing Center and directing the May Term and General Education Programs, as well as overseeing the assessment of academic programs and student learning outcomes.

The ADC also serves as an administrative representative to the Curriculum Council.  In this capacity, the ADC is responsible for the publication of the Curriculum Development Handbook that CC produces annually.  The handbook, available online, describes procedures for submitting course proposals, new majors, minors, and concentrations, as well as procedures for General Education course approval and course development information.  In addition, the Request for Curriculum Council Action form is also available online as well as exemplary proposals.
