Computers in the Library

The Ames Library provides over 100 computers for patron use. All computers contain productivity software, as well as library research tools to assist in the research process.

There are 50 computers located on the entry level in the Information Commons and the Instruction Lab. These can be used on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The three Project Rooms, on the entry level, have computers and projection capabilities. These rooms may be reserved by contacting the Information Services Desk, (309) 556-3350.
There are 7 scholarly workstations groups throughout the library: one on the lower level and two each on floors 2, 3, and 4. Subject specific software is available on these computers.
The Thorpe Center located on the 3rd level has laptops, digital cameras and much more available for check-out.  In addition, there are computers available for scanning and digital/audio editing.
There are stand-up workstations available in the rotundas for quick access to library resources, e-mail or the Internet.If you need assistance please contact the Information Services Desk, on the entry level, at (309) 556-3350.
