Poster Printing in the Thorpe Center

The Thorpe Center provides a poster printer for students, faculty and staff to print quality color posters for classroom presentations, poster sessions and conferences.  Poster printing is for academic use only.

Cost
  • 24" wide - $4.00
  • 36" wide - $5.00
  • 42" wide - $6.00
  • Additional length - $1.00 per foot

Poster Request Form - Please fill this form out completely before turning in your request to the Thorpe Center. (If charging to Departments please fill in the 12 digit account number) . Due to the size of files, they need to be submitted on a flash drive or CD along with the request  form.

Poster Printing Guidelines

  • Please contact the Thorpe Center at 556-1700 and talk to our trained staff about creating a poster.
  • Read our Poster Design Guide for tips on setting up a poster in Power Point. Please save posters as .jpeg files.
  • Posters should be complete and formatted correctly before being submitted for printing. The Thorpe Center staff will NOT make changes to design elements.
  • Posters are printed by advance request only  - please allow 2 business days
  • You may drop off a CD or flash drive containing your file anytime.  
  • Users will be notified by e-mail when their poster is ready for pickup.  Completed posters may be picked up in person at the Thorpe Center.
  • Material on posters must be copyright compliant, in the public domain, or you have permission to use. You are responsible for poster content and seeking permission to use if applicable.
  • Patrons are expected to pay for or provide an account number to which the posters may be charged when they are picked up at the service desk.

Points to Keep in Mind When Setting up Your Poster             

  • The library uses 42, 36 and 24 inch wide paper rolls. Either the width or length of the poster may not exceed 42, 36 and 24 inches respectively. The opposite direction may not exceed 48".
  • The Library does not offer any solutions to trimming posters that are not to the exact width of the paper
  • Different color printers print in different shades and do not always match to the computer monitor.
  • Posters that will be laminated may not be more the 27" wide.
