Argus - (1894 - present) - These issues of Illinois Wesleyan's student newspaper are part of an Argus preservation project funded through grants awarded by Illinois Secretary of State and State Librarian Jesse White as part of the Illinois Digital Archives  and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. 

ARTstor - A repository of hundreds of thousands of digital images from universities and museums around the world and tools to actively use the images.

CAMIO (Catalog of Art Museum Images Online) - An online collection documenting works of art from around the world, representing the collections of prominent museums. CAMIO highlights the creative output of cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, and covering the complete range of expressive forms.

Historical Photographs of IWU - These selections from photographs located in the University Archives illustrate some of the growth and changes to Illinois Wesleyan University since its founding in 1850. Background information for many of the photographs (approximate dates, names, etc.) is missing. If you have comments about them, please contact us.

Illinois Women in Education Online Exhibit, funded through an Educate and Automate Grant from the Illinois State Library, division of the Office of the Secretary of State, featuring images and documents from the Illinois Wesleyan University Archives.

John Wesley Powell Collection of Pueblo Pottery - This collection of over 100 specimens of pottery and a few wooden and basketry objects was presented to Illinois Wesleyan University in the mid-1880's. Virtual visitors will find still images and descriptions of each object through the link above.  An  exhibit guide allows on-site visitors to read details about the objects in this collection as they walk among the cases in the John Wesley Powell Rotunda on the entry level of the Ames Library.

Letters Received by the Powell Survey 1869-1879 - John Wesley Powell was a professor of natural sciences at Illinois Wesleyan University from 1865 to 1868. In the summers of 1867 and 1868, Powell led students and amateur scientists on collecting expeditions to the Colorado Rocky Mountains. In 1869 he led an exploring party of 10 men in four boats down the Green and Colorado Rivers, through Grand Canyon, and into the pages of history.

Pembroke Windows at The Ames Library - Sixteen windows from Pembroke College, Oxford are major features of the Bates & Merwin Reading Room on the fourth floor of The Ames Library.  Seen hanging around the rotunda, these panels carry with them a great deal of the history of Oxford and the United Kingdom.  Each glass panel represents the armorial bearings of individuals associated with Pembroke College.

SASKIA - 30,000 digital images of paintings, sculpture and architecture from collections such as; the Prado, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Uffizi, and the Louvre as well as archaeological sites in Greece, Italy, Turkey and Egypt.

Student Art Purchase Award - Since 1996, the Illinois Wesleyan University Library has annually purchased a piece of artwork selected from among works exhibited by senior, Bachelor of Fine Arts students in the School of Art.

Swahli Expressive Arts Collection - The Swahili Expressive Arts collection represents the research and scholarship of Professor Rebecca Gearhart, Ph.D., Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Illinois Wesleyan University.

World War II Correspondence - A collection of letters written by former IWU faculty member Fred "Bud" Brian (Class of 1950) to members of his family during his time in the Army Air Corps: 1943-1945. Many of these letters contain drawings and some have photographs and telegrams associated with them.
