This is the lead title of a number of print-only indexes that cover popular literature, which most online databases won’t locate, by author or subject names. Use them to find citations you can order through ILLiad for primary and secondary sources published during these eras.  There’s also the International Readers’ Guide and the Nineteenth century readers’ guide to periodical literature, 1890-1899 in the same area.
