Analytical Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Analytical Chemistry (beginning August 2010) and anticipates hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor. Our ACS-certified department values student-faculty interaction and seeks candidates who share our enthusiasm for involving students in interactive learning and student-faculty research. The successful candidate will teach quantitative analysis, instrumental analysis, and the associated upper level laboratories. Additional teaching responsibilities will include introductory and/or general chemistry and contributing to university-wide academic programs. Consistent with these responsibilities, the successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in analytical chemistry or a closely related field (or anticipate the Ph.D. by summer of 2010); have experience with a wide range of instrumentation; and demonstrate commitment to scholarly research and the liberal arts. Research and/or teaching experience beyond the earned doctoral degree is preferred. Illinois Wesleyan is a selective liberal arts college located in central Illinois.
