Windows Instructions

 

 

IWU Wireless Setup for Windows Vista

  • (If you have not installed secure W2 EAP before skip to step 6)
  •  
  • 1. Click on the start button at the bottom left corner.
  •  
  • 2. Go to the control Panel. Should be located on the right side of the start screen.
  •  
  • 3. Then click on the link "uninstall a program" it should be directly under "Programs"
  •  
  • 4. Select "Secure W2 EAP Suite" from the list choose "remove"
  •  
  • 5. Computer will ask you if you want to reboot computer. Reboot it.
  •  
  • 6. Once computer is back on. Click the Start button in the left bottom corner. When the new window pops up right click on computer and select properties.
  • 7. After installation is complete there will be a file in your downloads folder on your computer called secureW2. You can get to downloads by clicking on the start then going to computer and tab called downloads should be on the left.
  •  
  • 8. Run the program. A screen should pop up click on the button with the three dots and select the folder where you want the files to saved in. After that click okay and go to the folder you just created.
  •  
  • 9. Go through the installation steps.
  •  
  • 10. Once the installation is done try connecting to IWU-Wireless.
  •  
  • You will need to be in an IWU-Wireless Location.
  •  
  • 11. After trying to connect to the IWU-Wireless a new screen will pop-up ask for your school username and password. 

IWU Wireless Setup for Windows 7

IWU Wireless Setup for Windows 8

  • 1. Click on “Desktop”, located within the Start menu
  •  
  • 2. Right click on the wireless network connections in the bottom right corner of the screen
    •      a. Select “Open Network and Sharing Center”
  •  
  • 3. In the Network Sharing Center, select “Set up a new connection or network”
      •      a. Now select “Manually connect to a wireless network”. “Click Next”
      •      b. Manually add IWU-Wireless. Type "IWU-Wireless" for the network name.
      •      c. Select "WPA2-Enterprise" from the drop down menu for security type.
      •      d. Select "AES" from the drop down menu for encryption type.
      •      e. Check “Start this connection automatically”
      •      f. Click "Next"
      •      g. Windows 8 will have successfully added “IWU-Wireless”.
    •  
  • 4. Now click “Change connection setting”
    •      a. From here, click on the “Security” tab
    •      b. Under the “Change a network authentication method” drop down menu, select “Microsoft: EAP-TTLS” and select “OK”
    •      c. It will bring you back to the “Manually connect to a wireless network” screen. Select “Close”
    •  
  • 5.Left click on the wireless network connections in the bottom right corner this time and a menu will pop up.
  •  
  • 6. Select “IWU-Wireless” and click on “Connect”
  •  
  • 7. The “Network Authentication” menu will pop up. Enter the Username and Password. Select “OK”
  •  
  • 8. It will now say “Windows can’t verify the server’s identity”. Select “Connect”
  •  
  • 9. Windows will now be connected to the network.

Mac Instructions

 

 

IWU Wireless Setup for Mac OSX 10.5

  • 1. Click on Airport symbol on the top left corner.
  •    
  • 2. Make sure Airport is on.
  •    
  • 3. After making sure it is on. Click on the airport symbol again and click on network Preferences.
  •    
  • 4. When in Network Preferences go to the airport setting. When there click "advance".
  •    
  • 5. Go to the 802.1x tab.
  •    
  • 6. A new screen should have poped up. Click the "+" button to add a new profile it should be located in the left side corner.
  •    
  • 7. For the profile name put in "IWU-Wireless"
  •    
  • 8. For Security pick WPA2 Enterprise and enter your school username and password
  •    
  • 9. In the authentication box only pick TTLS
  •    
  • 10. Click the configure button and pick PAP leave everything else blank
  •    
  • 11. Click okay then apply.
  •    
  • 12. Click on the Advance Button again.
  •    
  • 13. On the new screen click the "+" button to add a new network it should be located in the left side corner.
  •    
  • 14. For Network name put "IWU-Wireless"
  •    
  • 15. For Security pick WPA2 Enterprise
  •    
  • 16. Leave username and pass empty and for 802.1x pick "IWU-Wireless". This should fill in the username and password automatically.
  •    
  • 17. Now click add, then okay, and finally apply.
  •    
  • 18. A authentication screen should have pop up click show certificate and make sure that the "Always trust IWU-Wireless" is checked after that click continue.
  • (If it ask for a password it's asking for your computer password.) Now you should be able to connect.

 

 

IWU Wireless Setup for Mac OSX 10.6

  • 1. Click on Airport symbol on the top left corner.
  •    
  • 2. Make sure Airport is on.
  •    
  • 3. After making sure it is on. Click on the airport symbol again and click on network Preferences.

IWU Wireless Setup for Mac OSX 10.7

  • (Will need a wired connection or open network to complete)
  • 1. Click on the link Download Client
  •    

  • 2. Click continue
  •    

  • 3. Enter your school username and hit next
  •    

  • 4. Enter your school password and click install.
  •    

  • 5. After installing go to the airport icon on the top right corner of your computer and try to connect to the IWU-Wireless.

Mobile Instructions

 

 

IWU Wireless Setup for Android Phone/Tablet

  • 1. Go to Your home Page.
  •    
  • 2. Then go to setting.
  •    
  • 3. Click on Wireless and Network
  •    
  • 4. Make sure your wifi on if not on already
  •    
  • 5. Select the IWU-Wireless network
  •    
  • (may ask you to create a password, write this password down you might need it. This password is to protect your Wifi network passwords.)
  •    
  • 6. Select TTLS
  •    
  • 7. Then select PAP
  •    
  • 8. Enter your school username
  •    
  • 9. Leave second field blank
  •    
  • 10. Enter your school password
  •    
  • 11. Hit connect and you should connect.

 

 

IWU Wireless Setup for iOS (Apple)

  • (On an open network to complete installation and on the
    the device you are installing the Wireless Client.)
  •    
  • 1. Click on the link Download Client
  •    
  • 2. A new screen should appear click on continue
  •    
  • 3. Enter your school username and hit next
  •    
  • 4. Enter your student password and click install.
  •    
  • 5. When the profile is installed go to setting and then wifi and try connecting to the IWU-Wireless.

 

 

IWU Wireless Setup for BlackBerry

  • At the current moment BlackBerry phones are not compatible to our network. If you do have a BlackBerry phone you should come in to see the Help Desk for other options on connecting wirelessly.

 

IWU Wireless Setup for Windows Phone

  • At the current moment windows 8 phones are currently not compatible to our network. If you do have a windows phone you should come in to see the Help Desk for other options on connecting wirelessly.
